**Guest Post from our friend Jennifer F.**
My local grocery store chain
employs adults with Ds as baggers and overall helpers in the store. Recently I
was attempting to check out in the dreaded self-checkout lane and I was getting
frustrated with the scanner. A sweet young woman who happened to be one of the
Ds helpers quietly walked over to me and laid her hand on my arm. She said,
“It’s okay.”
That simple action changed my mood from crabby to blessed. I have
no idea what her limitations, if any, might be. But I think her extra
chromosome was an extra helping of grace – a true gift indeed.
